Once destroyed the character goes directly to the next etc etc. Note on the CTRL key, pressing it causes your character to attack the nearest enemy automatically. Link your potions and best skills (lightening for me) to a F key to make switching / using easier. This eliminates the need to do two replenishment's by doing both at once. They are blueish-gray and restore health and mana when used. drop a red potion on the same size blue potion to create restoration potions. They are one of the most powerful weapons in the game (some say they're broken because they are so powerful) Also, do some research on Scorpion Traps as they are a survivors best friend. If you do find combat hard I would spend some points on Strength and Dexterity. Eventually you will find it less challenging but I found it to be just right as it always kept me on my toes and didn't let me run wild too much.Įdit: It is early in the game if you are still in Aleroth so there is plenty of time to tweak your character. DD is very much a game where stealth is required but first and foremost it is a hack and slash that requires lots of combat. Always run (R key toggles run) and always run back to areas you have cleared as running into the fog of war will always end up with your character surrounded or overwhelmed. Try slowing your game play and lure one critter at a time, work on him till he is dispatched, lure another. so you will need to find out which right click weapon compliments your play style.

Sorry for the quick answer as I am pressed for time and late but wanted to give some feedback concerning your secondary weapon. Put it on Easy till you buff up, Normal or Hard if your character becomes too powerful. This should help but the game can be a challenge if you have not built your character strong enough. If the critters are overwhelming you can change the difficulty during game play by going to the start screen (ESC), Options and find the difficulty setting.

Putting some points into a magic weapon, I like lightening, is well worth it as you use it all through the game. Even though the soldiers did the Orcs in you lost out on more experience points and will not level up as high as you might like before leaving Aleroth. DD game play is much slower than most hack and slash RPG's. I found it best to have a sword (left click) and lightening (right click) early in the game, the sword for close up and the lightening as a ranged weapon that works well on Orcs.
